Patrick O’Neill is a research-based multidisciplinary artist born and raised on the traditional, unceded and ancestral territories of the Coast Salish peoples - the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations (Vancouver, Canada).

He is an MA candidate in Contemporary Art Practice (Critical Practice) at the Royal College of Art, London UK. He works with performance, video, writing, sculpture and installation to create unwieldy containers of thought that critically examine the construction of the “self” and the mind-body relationship.

His current body of work is centred around the anxieties and ecstasies of experiences with the unknowable, specifically as it concerns the politics and history of psychiatry, madness and magic. Humour and play are often invoked as a way to question the role of tone, voice and expression in the production of knowledge and the granting of authority.
